Removed from Reality

I deployed to Afghanistan in 2009 as a USMC Reservist. Due to previous experience with the unit, I was permitted to film with unlimited access. My principal photography included the three months leading up to deployment, and many months after the return.

The film itself is narrated by myself nearly eight years later, as I sit in front of the computer and tell my own experience in my own words. I learned and grew so much. I didn’t do anything I regret, and I never even fired my rifle. I don’t have PTSD, and I don’t hear that story anywhere else. So, I finished my film.

The film is complete, and in the process of seeking distribution.

Resurface

I contributed several shots to the introduction of the film. My footage taken during training exercises was uniquely intimate, and served to illustrate the intensity of military training. I am proud to have helped these filmmakers tell their story.
